The History Creators...

After a great (read:GREAT) vacation of 21 days, we were back to school. As usual, staring confusingly at our S.S. teacher with a hint of a smile on our faces. She was discussing our performance in our S.S. papers. And she had a BAD expression on her face which meant that we had created history/civics in the papers. Yet again. These were some very great answers that she found. Well, I do think our teacher should get a good laugh too!

  • Who is an ideal citizen?
  • A citizen who sits without work is an ideal citizen.

  • What were the religious ideas of the Greek people?
  • The Greeks go to temples and read the Namaz.

  • Write about the palaeolithic art.
  • Paleolithic art means the people in the paleolithic age scribbled on walls with their blood.

  • Write about the harappan art.
  • Harappan art is a good job done by the people who made bald man with a broken nose.

That's all our teacher told us. We were more happy than sad because we had created history ONCE AGAIN!!!

LIGHT....

Light

Sheena was resting in her room. She had just come from school. She was very tired. Tired, for she had never expected something like this, a part of her had been killed. She had got up early in the morning to do her geometry. She was very afraid for Rahul had not come home the last night. She had got call from his family at night that Rahul had not taken his mobile with him. And he didn’t even tell Sheena about it.
She was as normal she could be. But then there was a call from his friend. The conversation was like this:
              “Hi” Sheena said.
“Hi Sheena, listen with your ears and don’t even think about it. Okay? We found Rahul. We found him dead. Hello…?”
Sheena couldn’t hear the rest….She wanted to die. She wanted to cry. She was lost in her own world. “God, is this the punishment I get for not believing in you?” she asked this to herself. That day was a challenge for her. She had her geometry exam on that day. And she had to go for it because Rahul never wanted her not to go for the exam.
She came from the exam. She had done very well. She cried. She could hear the silent cries from her heart. How he had been a breath of fresh air, she remembered. And he went like a typhoon. He was gone now. If there was someone whom she could go to with her problem, it had to be her brother Krit. Krit happened to be in the next room then. He was gay, and was in the midst of a really bitter breakup. But he was all ears when he had to play confidant to his sister. And Sheena came into the room and started speaking about all the bad that had happened to her.
Krit screamed at her; called her stupid, oversensitive and asked her to shut up. Sheena was in a state of shock. When she refused to move, Krit got up and pushed her away. That was the moment of truth. Sheena lost her temper. She came aiming her head at Krit, and started hitting him hard. Halfway down though, she realised she was sobbing. And Krit was consoling her. Her sadness had got converted into anger. But now, that flame, that anger, was going to make her live, and live with her head high in the society. She looked up, as if she was seeing something blink, and she was sure she saw a dim light. And in that light was a small smile. That was sure to last for a lifetime.
